My Home

Home In Ecuador, in the center of the province of Zamora Chinchipe, there is a small "cantón" called Zumbi, where my grandparents' farm is located between large green mountains. You had to walk 5 minutes from my uncle's house to get to the farm and in all those minutes you could see the two story, wood colored house. Located on a large plot of land full of plantations and animals, one minute before you arrive you can see Campion, Negra and Kiara, my grandparents' dogs. One of the dogs, Kiara, had four  puppies in total, four were given to good families and when I was 16 I kept the last puppy. My little Max was excited to see his mother.  When we arrived at our grandparents’ home we left our shoes in the laundry and washed our hands. I went upstairs and saw my grandmother cooking "caldo de pollo" and some rice to eat for lunch. My heart fills with happiness quickly. Waiting until we were all at home to eat

The Glass Castle

Knowing the Past to Understand  the Present Jeannette Walls Glass Castle As The Glass Castle unfolds, Jeannette Walls opens her heart to her readers, telling the story and details of her life. The focus of her memoir, in her early years, was the lack of care her parents showed her. The care that her parents overlooked, marked her life and influenced the personality she has today. Her parents' actions affected Jeannette as a child, even though she believed that her childhood was normal. The little care they took of her made her the strong adult she became. Lack of care-   According to Jeanette's reports of her neglectful childhood experiences, she had no stable place or home to live. In the second portion of her memoir, “The Desert”,  we learn that while her mother was in the next room singing, Jeanette, as a three year old, was cooking for herself. While cooking, she caught on fire, “Then the flames leaped up, reaching my face. I screamed. I smelled the burning and heard a h

The Glass Castle-

A woman on the street When we were young, we didn't see or value all things that our parents do for us. She's trying change her parents life but she didn't know they're happy. She feels embarrassed for her roots, for the people who gave her live.  In my opinion she thinks if her parents had expensive clothes or shoes, she can go with them to any place or money is everything but she doesn't realize that the little things she doesn't like are what makes her parents happy. Maybe they need help but if they don't want it, she can't force they. She doesn't wants share her parents life with her friends.
Personally, my family described it to me as a beautiful place in architecture, history and the great student value of studying at this university. They also told me that the people who studied there had worked very hard. I would can say that day my heart was going so faster. I had only seen the buildings on the outside. I was excited to see what they looked like on the inside and to know the reason why so many people came to see this place. The day of the tour we had to walk a lot, some buildings were closed so we did not have the opportunity to see the whole place but we went to beautiful places.  In those places you could see how many years the university has been dedicated to teaching the people who graduate from school each year, encouraging them to be able to continue studying in what they had dreamed of becoming. I was surprised to see how many areas they had to offer to these new students.Being able to pursue the career of your dreams and be the person you envisioned yourself
